Mussels in White Wine

This elegant recipe for mussels in white wine will turn a kitchen zero into a hero, as an added bonus, it's quick, easy, and cheap to make.

Ingredients

  • 4 TBS of butter
  • 2 shallots thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 cups of dry white wine
  • 3-4 lbs of mussels
  • ½ cup of chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Over medium-high heat melt butter in a saucepan.

  2. Sautee shallots and garlic until soft (2 minutes)
  3. Turn heat to high and add dry white wine
  4. Add live mussels and cook for 7-10 minutes until the majority of the shells are open
  5. Do not cook longer than 10 minutes.
  6. Add chopped parsley (reserving a few pinches for garnish) cover with a tight-fitting lid and toss to coat the mussels in the sauce.
  7. Plate in a shallow bowl
  8. Ladle sauce over top and sprinkle with a bit of fresh chopped parsley.
  9. Enjoy!
